Life in Ancient Egypt-Holidays and Festivals

1. In the village of Deir el-Medina the craftmen who lived there worked eight days out of every week of ten days.

2. Hunters scare birds by throwing sticks. Hunting birds was a popular sport in rich Egyptians.

3. The Horus as a child-he could also be shown as a child standing on a crocodile and surrounded by snakes, scorpions, and other dangerous animals.

4. Festivals were held to honour the gods. Only priests were allowed to go inside temples at festivals times.

5. Priests used a special calender based on the phases of the moon to work out when festivals should be held. After they followed the farmer's year, with celebrations to mark the ploughing and sowing of the fields later gathering of their crops.

My life is kind of similar because us as mexican we celebrate our own culture belifs some that other people dont celebrate. We do our own different mexican style food and decorate our house with mexican stuff.
